남부뉴저지통합한국학교, 졸업하는 선배들과 함께한 졸업 축제 <한인의 얼> 성료

남부뉴저지통합한국학교(이하 "학교")는 지난 5월 18일, 로완대학교 플리거콘서트홀에서 졸업식과 문화예술제 '한인의 얼'을 개최했다. 학교는 2018년부터 재외동포재단의 맞춤형 지원금 후원으로 인턴교사제도를 운영해왔고, 올해 일곱 명의 졸업생을 배출했다. 이들은 한 해 동안 정식 급여를 받으며 책임을 맡아 학생들을 지도하는 인턴교사로서 성공적으로 임무를 수행했다.
행사는 오전 12시부터 남부뉴저지교회협의회장 최치호 목사의 기도와 축사로 시작되었으며, 이예나 학생회장과 양초원, 이예지가 진행을 맡아 졸업식이 진행되었다. 김정숙 교장의 환영사 이후 김나연, 김윤, 김한들, 윤서현, 이종현, 이지한, 이하영 졸업생들에게 졸업장이 수여되었다. 졸업생들은 축하를 받으며 졸업모를 던졌고, 개별적으로 졸업소감을 나누는 시간을 가졌다. 졸업생 중 한 해 동안 자원봉사자로 인턴교사를 수행한 김윤 학생에게는 표창장도 수여했다. 프리스쿨부터 12학년까지 14년간 한국학교에 재학했던 이하영 졸업생은 학생, 보조교사, 인턴교사 등 다양한 경험을 통해 한글과 한국문화를 배우고 가르칠 수 있었던 기회가 감사하고 좋은 친구와 추억을 만들고 가게되어 기쁘다고 소감을 말했다.
관객들은 졸업식 후 로비에서 진행된 미술특화반 학생들의 미술전시회를 관람했다. 이어 문화예술제 '한인의 얼' 공연이 진행되었다. 사물놀이, 부채춤, 합창단, 창작무 '작약지증', 부채춤, 모듬북 등 유치부 부터 12학년까지 전교생이 한 해 동안 갈고닦은 다채로운 한국문화공연예술을 선보였다. 마지막까지 함께한 관객들은 행운권 추첨으로 행사를 더욱 즐겼다.
여름 방학 중 학교는 오는 8월 19일부터 22일까지 한국문화여름캠프를 포코노 길리엇캠프장에서 진행한다. 6월 1일부터 등록이 시작되며 선착순 20명에게 특별 할인혜택이 제공된다. 2024-2025학년도 신학기는 9월 7일 개강한다. 1학년부터 11학년까지 특화반 90분 수업이 필수과정이다. 1~5학년은 45분씩 두 개 과목을 선택할 수 있고 6~11학년은 90분 한 과목을 선택, 예술단 공연활동을 하게된다. 한국어 수업은 지난해부터 도입한 교대 강의 방식의 수업을 올해도 진행한다. 각 그룹의 수준에 맞는 문법, 읽기, 쓰기 등 각 영역을 담당하는 교사가 집중하여 수업한 후 교대하는 방식으로 학생과 교사 모두 더 효과적으로 수업할 수 있었다.

KSSNJ successfully concluded the graduation festival "Spirit of Korea" with graduating seniors.

On May 18th, the Southern New Jersey Unified Korean School (hereinafter referred to as "the School") held the graduation ceremony and cultural arts festival "Spirit of Korea" at the Rowan University Pfleeger Concert Hall. Since 2018, the School has been operating an intern teacher program with tailored funding support from the Overseas Koreans Foundation, and this year, seven graduates were produced. Over the past year, they have successfully fulfilled their duties as intern teachers, receiving regular salaries and guiding students.
The event began at noon with a prayer and speech from Pastor Chiho Choi, chairman of the Southern New Jersey Korean Church Council, followed by the graduation ceremony led by student president Yenna Lee and hosts Ashley Yang and Jacqueline Lee. After Principal Chungsook Kim's welcoming remarks, diplomas were awarded to graduates Ashley Kim, Yun Kim, Emma Kim, Kyle Yoon, Jonathan Lee, John Lee, and Judith Lee. The graduates received congratulations and threw their caps, followed by individual sharing of their graduation sentiments. Yun Kim, who served as an intern teacher for a year, was also awarded a commendation certificate. Judith Lee, a graduate who attended Korean schools from preschool to 12th grade for 14 years, expressed gratitude for the opportunities to learn and teach Korean language and culture through various experiences such as being a student, assistant teacher, and intern teacher. She also mentioned feeling happy to make good friends and memories along the way.
Audiences enjoyed an art exhibition by students specializing in art after the graduation ceremony, followed by the cultural arts festival "Spirit of Korea." From kindergarten to 12th grade, students showcased a diverse range of Korean cultural performances they had polished over the past year, including Samulnori, fan dance, choir performances, Peony Dance, and a variety of drum performances. Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed a lucky draw, adding to the festive atmosphere.
During the summer vacation, the school will hold a Korean cultural summer camp at the Pocono Gilead Campground from August 19th to 22nd. Registration starts on June 1st, with special discounts available to the first 20 registrants. The 2024-2025 academic year will begin on September 7th. Specialized classes of 90 minutes are mandatory for grades 1 through 11. Grades 1 to 5 can choose two subjects, each lasting 45 minutes, while grades 6 to 11 will select one subject for 90 minutes and engage in 토토사이트 벤츠 K-Arts Company.
