남부뉴저지통합한국학교(교장 김정숙)는 지난 1월 25일 8시부터 90분간 성균관대학교 초다듬이 풍물패와 함께 풍물놀이 특강 시간을 가졌다. SKKU-BA-DIVE(SKKU Bonding And Dive in)라는 국제 교류 프로그램 일환으로 미국을 방문한 다섯 명의 성균관대학교 재학생들은 본교를 방문하여 전통타악연주단 단원들에게 서서 연주하는 풍물놀이의 기본을 강의했다. 연주단의 현재 레파토리는 앉은반 연주인데 한국에서 온 대학생 강사들과 함께 걷고 움직이며 장구, 북, 징을 연주하면서 즐거운 시간을 가졌다.
초다듬이 풍물패는 설장구 수업시간에 보조교사로 활동한 후 학교가 파하는 시간에 다목적실에서 풍물놀이 공연을 선보였다. 수업을 마치고 하교하는 길에 학생, 교사, 학부모님들은 상모를 돌리며 신나게 연주하는 풍물패의 공연을 즐겁게 감상했다. 이번 행사는 한국에서 온 성균관대학교 학생들과 미국 거주 남부뉴저지통합한국학교 전통타악연주단이 함께 문화교류하며, 한국 전통문화를 미국 현지에 소개하고, 한인 2세들에게 문화적 정체성을 심어주는 뜻깊은 행사였다.

Students, teachers, and parents on their way home enjoyed watching the energetic performance, complete with spinning Sangmo (ribboned hats).
