This group focused on defining and exploring different types of stigma placed around mental health in South Korea. There are three types of stigmas: public, institutional, and self. They discuss the work and lifestyle of Koreans and how Korean culture can impact their mental health. The group also talks about the barriers to visiting psychiatrists and seeking help utilizing statistics and factual evidence. They also discuss the mortality rate and the risk of suicide and in what ways we can mitigate stigma to increase engagement in treatment.
