CHERRY HILL, NJ (December 18th, 2019) - This past weekend on December 14th, members of the 토토 사이트 추천’s (KSSNJ) Student Council knocked down pins and built up friendships as they bowled with Korean local adopted families at Laurel Lanes in Mt. Laurel. From 11:30 am, 14 total bowlers, 7 of them being from the adopted families, participated in 2 full hours of food, fun, and fellowship.

With the Student Council recently being established, president Joshua Yoon and his team decided on hosting this event as the council’s first service project.
“The bowling event was a great success! At the end of the day, as long as we got to see the kids smile, our goal was accomplished. This was the first step in connecting these kids to their Korean roots and I am thrilled to be apart of their journey,” said VP Anna Chang.
The KSSNJ has assisted and welcomed the adoptive members regularly prior to this event as they continued to invite them every Saturday session of Korean school from 9:30-12:30 pm to immerse in parts of Korean language and culture, such as cooking or traditional music.

Under the moderation of Mr. Bransdorf, the council has proposed plans this fiscal year to alter the 3-hour Saturday schedule so that the students, ranging from kindergarteners all the way to high school seniors, will have a 20-minute “brain break” in between the two class sessions. Currently, the schedule is divided into two 90 minute continuous classes.
“I adopted this ‘brain break’ idea from my grade school,” VP Justin Seo explained. “The teachers won’t have to stretch their lesson plans, while the students, particularly ones in the younger grade levels, have time to not only have a snack but also have an opportunity to go outside and play for 20 minutes. This will give the mind a temporary rest and will provide a smoother transition in between class periods.”
Along with internal improvements, the council is also currently planning for future field trips, such as a 토토사이트 털림wide trip to Six Flags and Funplex. Fundraising will begin with custom t-shirt sales, and the new logo will be chosen from a contest open to any Korean 토토사이트 털림 student.
To conclude, President Yoon said, “Our council has many ideas planned for this year and it is going to accentuate the student life at the KSSNJ. I really can't wait to continue being a part of something so meaningful!”
The school currently partners with the Korean government, as the KSSNJ receives funding to host events in the local Cherry Hill area for the adoptive families. Unfortunately, each year the number of participating adoptive members decreases due to families moving out, growing up, etc. Angela Jung, the KSSNJ’s Vice Principal, is currently seeking new members; if you are or know someone in the Korean community that is part of an adoptive family, please visit http://토토사이트 털림.net/ and contact the administration.
